Prison sentence for possession of child porn

Lithgow Mercury – Saturday, 5 March 2005

The amount of child pornography material found in a Lithgow home was among the worst of the hundreds of raids carried out in a Federal and State police campaign across Australia last year.

The claim was attributed to a senior commander of Strike Force Auxin when a Lithgow man arrested in the much publicised blitz appeared for sentencing in Lithgow Court this week.

Ronald Leslie Coleman, 47, of Percy Street, Lithgow, pleaded guilty to four counts relating to possession of child pornography.

Magistrate Mr G Zdenkowski sentenced Coleman to nine months jail.

The former Mid West Area Health employee was arrested after police from the Auxin team executed a search warrant on his home in September last year.

A statement of facts tendered to the Court by Det Const Jason Barker, of Lithgow police, said that a number of items had been seized from the house.
