A 55-year-old man who took pornographic images of a two-year-old girl to help combat sexual dysfunction has been placed on a good behaviour bond in South Australia’s District Court.

The court heard Trevor Michael Golding became obsessed with his genitals and sexual problems, and started looking at child pornography to help arouse him.

In June 2008 he took photographs of the young girl touching his genitals, but later deleted them from his camera.

The court heard the photographs were discovered when a nurse used the camera to photograph his wife’s ankle injury, and downloaded the contents of the camera onto a computer.

In sentencing Judge Paul Rice described the offending as vile, but acknowledged that Golding is genuinely remorseful and now suffers from major depression.

He suspended Golding’s 12-month non-parole period and ordered he enter into an 18-month good behaviour bond.
