Ex-teacher jailed for child porn

Alister Thomson | 25th June 2011

FIVE men were sentenced yesterday for child pornography offences including an ex-teacher and a 67-year-old man who shared 17,500 images of young girls with other sex fiends.

Kenneth Douglas Wright, 67, of Rubyvale, was sentenced in the Rockhampton District Court to three years’ imprisonment with a release date set after 12 months following guilty pleas to four charges including using a carriage service to disseminate child pornography.

The photos involved videos and images of 1000 child victims and included the abuse of children while bound and gagged as well as bestiality involving pre-pubescent girls and dogs.

“The worst imaginable other than that involving killing people for others’ gratification,” Judge David Reid said.

Wright accessed the files between March, 2005 and June, 2009.

Judge Reid said the only aspect of his case that saved him from serving a longer period in prison was his health.

Wright will be released from prison on a security of $2000 and a good behaviour bond for five years.

Other sentences delivered yesterday include.

Aaron Wayne Smith, 29, was sentenced to 12 months in prison with immediate release on a good behaviour bond for two years after pleading guilty to five counts of using a carriage service to access child pornography and one count of knowingly possessing of child exploitation material.

Ex-teacher Andrew Leslie Henwood, 29, was sentenced to 15 months in prison with immediate release on a good behaviour bond for two years after pleading guilty to 19 counts of using a carriage service to access child pornography and two counts of possessing child exploitation material.

Brett James Robinson, 40, was sentenced to 15 months in prison to be released after four months on three counts.

Scott Kristian Adamus, 31, was sentenced to nine months in prison wholly suspended after pleading guilty to one count.
