Child porn man awaits sentence

A FORMER Shoalhaven Heads man who pleaded guilty over child pornography offences will be sentenced in Parramatta District Court on October 24.
Lindsay Peter Gorrie, 56, now of Grose Vale in north-western Sydney, appeared before Magistrate Brown in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, charged with using a carriage service to access and disseminate child pornography and possession of material intended to breach the Telecommunications Act.
Police allege the offences took place at his Shoalhaven Heads residence between March 18, 2011 and December 4, 2013.
As part of their ongoing investigations into the possession, production and dissemination of online child abuse material, detectives executed a search warrant at the home on December 4.
Police allegedly seized a number of items, including laptop and desktop computers, a tablet, a mobile telephone and electronic storage devices.
Gorrie was arrested at his workplace in Sydney later that day and taken to Sydney City Police Station where he was charged.
Gorrie’s bail was continued and he will reappear in Parramatta District Court on October 24 for sentence.
